As part of the celebration of York Circle's 900th Meeting (Thu 24 Oct 2002) over 2600 Catenians and their families & friends celebrated Mass in this magnificent building. The Mass was led by Bishop John Crowley (Middlesborough Diocese) and in addition there were two archbishops, two bishops, one abbot, with 24 priests and 12 deacons. Lunch took place afterwards at St William's College adjacent to the Minster. York Minster clergy and staff extended a warm ecumenical welcome to all and we are extremely grateful for their kindness and cooperation. This was a wonderful Mass thanks to the efforts of J Fletcher & M Vevers who are to be congratulated on helping make this such a special occasion for the Catenian Association.
